About the Author

The author is a human rights activist and author. She was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and grew up during the Soviet-Afghan War. She fled Afghanistan with her family in 1996 and came to the United States as refugees. The author is now a U.S. citizen and lives in California with her family.
